Mission brief

Connect rhymes. Launch rockets. Build phonemic power.

Rockets on the board carry words. Students identify rhyming pairs, draw a connection line, then say the pair aloud as the rockets blast off.

Round flow

  1. Display 6–8 rockets, each carrying one word.
  2. Students take turns drawing lines between rhyming words.
  3. Correct pairs launch with a whoosh and visual trail.
  4. Students say each rhyming pair aloud.
  5. Every correct pair earns a class star.

Why teachers use it

Match rhyming rockets

Six to eight rockets appear with words. Students find rhyming pairs and connect them on the board.

Launch on correct pair

When two connected words rhyme, both rockets launch with a whoosh animation and class cheers.

Earn stars together

Each correct connection awards a class star, turning phonemic awareness into a shared mission.
